Description

Working with your hands allows you to connect with the physical world in a way that is often lost in the digital age.

Join Sarah of Wildling Studio as we get creative together in our Home-Ed Clay session. These sessions are designed exclusively for mini wildlings, teaching traditional hand skills and encouraging a connection to nature. Based in the wonderful surroundings of Found Outdoors, a local rewildling project, we will be inspired by our environment.

During the workshop Sarah will gently guide you step by step through traditional hand-building techniques. You will learn pinching, coiling and slab-building as well as decoration techniques.

Our makes will be themed to the seasons and you’ll have a chance to play and get creative with your pieces.

Please note: We will be using stoneware clay. Pieces will need to be brought back to the studio for glazing and firing and will be ready for collection approximately 2-3 after the session.

Suitable for children aged 5+

Parents must stay and accompany their child.

Wildling Studio is a space dedicated to cultivating creativity, joy and wholehearted living.

Having experienced periods, as so many of us do, of deep pain and disconnection, I wish to create a space where I can share all the tools and resources that help my heart stay open and mind balanced. Space that empowers healing by deepening our connection to the earth, to creativity, to each other and to life.

At its core, Wildling is a ceramic studio, but venture further and you’ll find a space not only to share what I have learnt and love, but one which encourages collaboration with small businesses, local crafts people, artists and makers.

Sarah Glazier-Hart

With 16 years of experience creating and teaching ceramics, I have had the privilege of guiding many people on their creative journey with clay. Teaching pottery and other traditional craft skills allows me to combine my love of working with my hands with the joy of empowering others to explore their own artistic expressions.

My own ceramic work is inspired by the beauty found in living simply, in tandem with nature. I hand build my high fired ceramic homeware slowly and with great attention to detail, wanting to imbue those everyday rituals of preparing and eating food with joy. My work is characterised by organic shapes, the tactile nature of materials and beautiful glazes in soft tones.

When I am not creating at the studio you can find me with hands plunged into the earth, growing and tending to vegetables, my nose buried deep in a book or trying out my latest craft obsession with my little boy, Jesse - at the moment we are enjoying collecting and pressing flowers. I also love to submerge myself into cold water at every possible opportunity!
