Carclew Sharehouse Residents are proud to present Home Grown as part of the Nature Festival 2023!

Embrace the outdoors and unleash your creativity at Carclew House on Saturday 7 October, for a day filled with creative art workshops based on this year’s theme, ‘Nature of Home’.

What does it mean to be ‘home’, you might ask. In actuality, every human being only has three homes: this beautiful Earth, our complicated brains, and our vessels (our bodies). From the moment we are born, these are the worlds within our world in which we get to exist and explore.

In response to home and all the organisms who live here – ‘Home Grown’ is a celebration of the plants, creatures, human lives, and ideas grown on and nourished by the Earth on which the Kaurna Plains sit.

Our 2023 Sharehouse Residents have lined up 3 incredible workshops that place emphasis on our homes and celebrate the connection with the organisms that share it.

Workshops include:

Sun Kissed  
Immerse yourself in the captivating world of sun printing, where art and nature collide. Using the power of the sun’s rays, we will provide step-by-step guidance while you create stunning one-of-a-kind masterpieces.

Listen and Draw  
Explore the stunning grounds and surrounds of Carclew House for a multi-sensory nature drawing session. With tutorial support from multidisciplinary artist Chloe Noble while listening to relaxing ambient music from sound designer extraordinaire Keira Simmons.

Fairy Homes  
Unleash your creativity as artist and curator, Lia Karabatsos, guides you in crafting whimsical fairy doors, each a unique expression of your imagination.

Each workshop is perfect for all ages and no previous art-making experience is necessary. We’ll provide all the materials you need, but please don’t hesitate to bring your own.
