Home Healthcare is a hands-on, holistic workshop designed to empower you with the tools and confidence to care for yourself and your household in nourishing, sustainable ways. Guided by Naturopath and Permaculture Educator Samantha Somers of SOMA-NATURA, this 3-hour session blends evidence-informed natural health with the wisdom of seasonal living, herbal medicine, and ecological design. Discover how to create your own home apothecary, adapt permaculture zones to wellness, and re-frame health as something we grow—within and around us. Come home to your body, your breath, and your place in the living world.

You will come away with a renewed sense of connection to your body and home environment. You’ll have the tools and confidence to begin caring for yourself in more self-sufficient, sustainable ways—and a full toolkit of handouts, recipes, and planning guides to help you put it into practice long after the day ends.

By the end of this session, you will:

Understand how to apply holistic and permaculture principles to your everyday health
Feel confident using herbs, food, and natural rhythms to support your wellbeing
Design a personalised seasonal self-care plan tailored to your body and home
Create your own ‘Home Apothecary’ blueprint with simple, effective tools

Youth Offer

This workshop is suitable for teenagers, accompanied by mum, dad or another adult guardian, who has also paid to attend the workshop.

About the Facilitator

Samantha Somers is a Naturopath, Nutritionist, Herbalist, and Permaculture Educator with a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy and a Master of Health Promotion (in progress). She is the founder of SOMA-NATURA, offering virtual consultations, educational resources, and community workshops at Northey Street City Farm.

With expertise in food as medicine, herbal therapeutics, and sustainable living, Samantha blends naturopathy and permaculture to teach holistic, practical approaches to nutrition and wellness. She also serves on the Australian Health Promotion Association (AHPA) QLD Branch Committee, advocating for preventative healthcare and community well-being.
