Home Herbalism Workshop October

A hands-on workshop exploring the art of herbalism for the home. Deep dive into the processes of making topical herbal infused oils and salves, fresh herbal oxymels, effective infusion blends & lozenges for common ailments, and herbal first-aid demonstrations with common medicinal weeds.

This workshop aims to provide you with practical skills and take-home recipes to make simple and potent herbal preparations affordably and joyfully.

Located at Fair Harvest Permaculture Farm from 9.30-4.30pm on Sunday 22 October 2023.

Further topics we will cover with take-home resources for further learning (some subject to change):
- Seasonal medicinal and edible weed & plant identification
- Safe foraging, harvesting, drying and storing methods & uses
- Herbal processing overview: Intro to types of preparations/solvents and methods

This workshop will include a range of approaches to herbalism including Traditional, Western, Evidence-Based, Intuitive and Permaculture.

Please note this event is not catered, you will need to bring your own lunch to this venue as the cafe will be closed. Town is a 5 minute drive away.

Exchange available as a sliding scale prices from $120-$140+ booking fee for a full day workshop. Please note there are only 2 concession prices ($80) available, please pay for the sliding scale price ticket if you can afford to allowing these discounted prices for those that need it.

About the facilitator:

Tamara here. I am a student herbalist, workshop facilitator and permaculture teacher who began studying & immersing in the processes of grass-roots herbalism, Intuitive and Traditional Herbalism in 2019. Over the past 4 years, I have become immersed in both Permaculture & Herbalism grass-roots education/living and completed a Diploma of Western Herbal Medicine in 2022, and various Permaculture courses 2020-22. My recent approach to herbalism is informed by my Health Science studies and various grass-roots herbalism movements worldwide that aim to make herbal medicine knowledge accessible.

Through my workshops, I aim to highlight the importance of learner-centred learning, skill sharing, personal connection to plants for healing, community-sufficiency building, as well as the joy that slow and simple home herbalism can bring to our daily lives.
