If your home was built more than ten years ago, there's a good chance your insulation isn't performing as well as it could, or is missing altogether in key areas. Good insulation is one of the most cost-effective improvements you can make, reducing heat loss in winter, keeping your home cooler in summer, and taking pressure off your heating and cooling systems.

This session covers everything you need to make an informed decision about insulating your home. You'll learn how insulation actually works, how to determine whether you have it, where it's located, and how to get a rough sense of how well it's performing.

We'll look at the most common insulation materials -- like bulk batts, reflective foil, and loose-fill options -- and discuss which types are best suited to roofs, walls, and underfloor applications. You'll also get practical guidance on installation, including what's realistic as a DIY project and what's better left to a professional.

Finally, the session covers what you can expect to pay for different scopes of work, along with a clear explanation of current rebates and financial incentives that may significantly reduce your outlay.

Whether you're planning a major upgrade or just starting to investigate your options, this session will give you a solid, practical foundation to work from.
