Nature Play with Imaginary Leaps: An Adventure into Bibra Lake

Discover the magic of Bibra Lake in this creative and engaging workshop led by internationally recognised artist and educator Rachel Riggs from Imaginary Leaps!

Designed for children aged 2–5 and their parents or carers, this immersive experience invites little explorers to connect with nature through playful adventures in storytelling, puppetry and creative play. As families journey through the wetlands, children will investigate local environmental themes, such as native animals, plant life, and natural textures, while engaging with colour, shape, and sensory discovery. Using nature play as a foundation, every week features a new puppet story-time and nature craft activity. Rachel’s approach nurtures creativity, curiosity, and connection, blending fun with artistry and social wellbeing. This workshop offers a meaningful and memorable experience that celebrates the wonder of Bibra Lake and the joy of learning through play.

Dates for Term 2 2026:

Location: Education Room, The Wetlands Centre Cockburn, 184 Hope Road, Bibra Lake WA 6163

Program format: 8-week structured morning course
Sessions are linked across the term with gentle continuity, but each session also stands alone for casual drop-ins.

Suitable Age Groups: Children 2–5 years, accompanied by a parent/carer

Price: $10 per child, per session

About the Presenter:

Rachel Riggs is an internationally recognised creative learning specialist and founder of Imaginary Leaps, a platform for inspiring creativity through play and art. With a Master’s in Fine Art and extensive experience in visual theatre, puppetry, and sensory arts, Rachel has worked with leading cultural institutions worldwide, including the Tate Modern, Sensorium Theatre, and the State Library of Western Australia. Her workshops emphasise emotional and social wellbeing, fostering self-confidence, collaboration, and artistic expression in participants of all ages.
