About this event

Did you dream of and plan to have a homebirth and instead, transferred to a hospital in pregnancy, labour or postpartum?

Do you grieve the unexpected way your birth happened? Do you have unresolved feelings about your birth and want to heal this and move forward?

Whether you birthed your baby 5 months ago or 5 yrs ago you are welcome. Whether you transferred from home in pregnancy, labour or postpartum, you are welcome.

*We will use the word birth through which includes the whole perinatal period. 

What is a Circle?

It is a safe space to share, connect, listen and be seen and heard without judgment. You do not need to have any experience of sitting in Circle. Shaz is an experienced facilitator and will support you the whole time.

This Circle is for you if any of the following resonate with you:

• You want to understand what happened and why

- You grieve the birth you had dreamed of, planned and prepared for

• You feel like you did everything you could  but wonder what you did/didn't do, what went wrong and the many what if's;

• When you think of your birth you feel sad, not-enough, at a loss, angry, shame and you want to feel differently

• You don't like sharing your birth story and you may find it hard to be happy for people who have had a positive birth (especially a homebirth)

- You feel let down by your midwife/doula/ partner.

-You have trauma related to your birth. 

• You feel alone, people don't understand why you feel heavy about your birth.

In this Circle we will:

- Listen & share the stories of our birth in a safe, trauma-informed, judgement-free, advice-free, harm-free space

- Reflect on your birth story to understand what you need to move forward

- Invite in self-compassion, forgiveness, clarity and hope

- Connect with yourself and others

- Share a nourishing, catered lunch

- Participate in exercises/processes to help you heal

Please note: This is not group counselling. You will be offered a safe space and practices to navigate your experience.

***Babe's in arms are welcome in the Circle. If you have a little one on the move, a partner/friend is welcome to come and stay outside the Yurt so you can feed/connect when needed without disturbing the Circle.

Our sliding scale for payment of tickets recognises the different levels of financial security and privilege. Please be mindful that the ticket at lower costs are limited in number.  Payment Plans are available. Please message me to access this. We will gather on Dharawal Country, the traditional lands of the Wodi Wodi people, we pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.
