Event description

Have you ever wondered what we do at HomeGround?  We invite you to join us for our Open day!

This is a chance to meet with our staff, hear stories directly from our tenants and tour our award-winning building - including exclusive access to the rooftop garden, greenhouse and our Haeata community dining area.

This is an exclusive opportunity that doesn’t happen often.

Tickets cost $10 and this will go toward the services we provide across housing, healthcare and food.

There will be a range of activities on the day:

  • HomeGround tours will start every 15mins from 12pm.
  • Pop-up op shop
  • Experts and booths with all you've ever wanted to know

About the Mission:

Every day at the Mission, we respond to poverty and great need in our city. People come to us when they need a safe place to call home, enough nutritious food to eat, and when their health is compromised.

About the HomeGround building:

Nicholas Stevens and Gary Lawson of Stevens Lawson Architects (SLA) were awarded the 2022 Gold Medal by Te Kāhui Whaihanga New Zealand Institute of Architects, considered New Zealand's highest honour for architects. HomeGround is a work of international significance, winning the World Architecture Festival commendation and standing as a model of care-informed architecture. It’s also a model of technical innovation: the tallest structural timber building in Aotearoa, and the product of meticulously considered sustainability principles.

We look forward to welcoming you into our home this October.  Book your place now!
