During Homelessness Week 2025, the Fremantle Community Legal Centre (FCLC) is hosting a forum called 'Before the Notice: A Community Intervention Lab', because the best eviction is the one that never happens.

This event is part of the FCLC's broader Keeping Homes, Keeping Futures project and is designed to be hands-on, engaging and practical for members of our Fremantle community, housing authority and property managers.

The event is supported by a Shelter WA’s Homelessness Week 2025 Grant.

Here is a quick overview of what the session includes:

Stop the spiral simulation: A small group activity where people work through realistic tenancy scenarios and decide how to step in early before things escalate.

Design your safety net workshop: A quick creative exercise where participants sketch out the tools, systems or supports that would help them act earlier in real life. The ideas will be added to a shared visual wall titled 'What it takes to keep homes, not just catch crises'.

Stories and voices: Short, powerful video clips from people with lived experience and front-line workers, followed by a brief reflection and Q&A.

Wrap-up and call-to-action: We will go through referral steps and early warning checklists, then ask people to commit to one action they can take to shift from reacting to preventing.
