Honour Abortion Loss - a healing circle

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

In this circle, we deeply honor and respect all women and their experiences surrounding abortion.

We acknowledge that every pregnancy, including abortions, marks a significant transition in a woman's journey.

Every woman has her own unique reasons for seeking abortion, whether they are related to medical, social, familial, emotional, or economic circumstances.

Within this circle, we create a sacred space to honor abortion as a rite of passage into motherhood, recognizing that women carry profound and personal experiences within their cellular memory, their wombs, and their hearts.

It is common for these experiences to be accompanied by unacknowledged grief, shame, silence, confusion, disbelief, or shock.

We warmly welcome all aspects of you to this circle and ceremony.

Here, we provide a safe and gentle environment to honor the unborn and courageously speak aloud what may have remained unspoken.

We practice active and compassionate listening, holding space for one another with open hearts.

As we come together and acknowledge this rite of passage, we may discover more ease and peace while recognizing the valuable teachings held within our individual experiences.

By co-creating intentional spaces for women to share, process grief, and honor their respective choices, we work to dismantle the cultural taboos and holding patterns that surround abortion.

Please bring:

  • A warm shawl to cover yourself with
  • A keep cup for tea
  • A water bottle
  • A journal and pen for personal reflections
  • An open heart

As a guide, I am deeply passionate about supporting women in reclaiming all aspects of themselves, allowing them to embrace their full feminine power.

My own lived experiences of two pregnancies ending in terminations have profoundly shaped the woman I am today, fueling my commitment to this important work.

Please contact me directly on 0438 424 986 with any questions or unique needs regarding this circle + ceremony.

Reflections from previous Honouring Abortion Circle + Ceremony:

"The choice to attend the circle felt important, although it didn't necessarily feel easy. However, once settled into the welcoming space with women who each have their own experiences to bring, I knew I was in the right place. Arahni established and held the space so beautifully, so that I felt safe in my body and in my expression."

"I learnt that the judgements I place on myself and on others are often not truth. I learnt that it is important to share my story in the way it presents in the moment. I learnt that much wisdom and healing can come from being in a safe and altered state with other women, and in storytelling." Anna

Arahni walks her own shamanic path of healing and transformation and serves to re-awaken the innate healing wisdom and soul nature within others.

For 20 years Arahni worked in trauma responsive family support services, safe refuges, and schools.  She supported young people and women and children in therapeutic work.  She designed and facilitate peer prevention programs in sexual assault, domestic violence, alcohol and other drugs and sexual health.

For the last decade, Arahni studied intensively with School of Shamanic Womancraft, a Women's Mysteries school, and is a graduate teacher of the Four Seasons Journey, guide on the Earth Woman online course and facilitator of Becoming A Woman workshops for mothers & daughters.

Practicing the healing arts of holistic counselling, shamanic womancrafting, intuitive body work and compassionate enquiry, she works alongside those who seek guidance to re-orient themselves through life's challenges, transformations and transmutations, from the altar of birth to the final rite of death.

Arahni offers positive menstrual education, 1:1 private healing sessions, reclaiming ceremonies, healing rituals, sacred circles and coming of age year-long journeys for mothers & daughters in her community and beyond.
