Description
Stand where your food is grown. Meet the people who grow it. Then take your seat at the table.
Join us for an immersive paddock to plate experience at Cudgen Road Farms, hosted by owners Matthew, Jane, Henry and Jessica Prichard. Begin with a guided walk through the sweet potato paddocks, hearing firsthand the stories, challenges and innovations behind one of the region's most recognised farming families. Discover how generations of knowledge, a commitment to sustainability and a willingness to embrace innovation have helped shape one of the region's most recognisable farm-to-community brands through their roadside farmgate shop, Mate & Matt's.
The experience then moves into the packing shed, where a rustic long-table lunch awaits. Authentic, relaxed and deeply connected to place, the lunch celebrates the farm, the community, and the close-knit relationships between Cudgen farmers. In respectful acknowledgement of the Bundjalung Traditional Custodians and their ongoing connection to Country, this event honours the land, its history, and the people who continue to grow from it.
In collaboration with Le Cordon Bleu Master Samantha Gowing, chef and clinical nutritionist, you'll enjoy a thoughtfully curated lunch celebrating the incredible versatility of sweet potatoes, alongside seasonal produce sourced from the farm's own seasonal garden and local food icon Jumping Red Ant. It's a rare opportunity to connect with the people behind the food, gain a deeper understanding of modern agriculture, and experience the flavours, stories and community spirit that make the Cudgen Plateau so undeniably special.
