HOOT! TORCH SONGS LIVE - A Benefit for the National Immigration Law Center

Torch Songs - For Refugees, Detainees, and Immigrants Under Siege was the first HOOT! On Record album. Recorded in 2020, its focus of concern is even more urgent today. HOOT! presents its first live performance of Torch Songs, bringing back performers and songs from the original album, and introducing new singers and material. All proceeds from this performance will benefit the National Immigration Center.

Torch Songs is a collection of songs about the dream of a promised land, the difficulty of pilgrimage, and the despair that may come when a sanctuary nation betrays its mandate. The light in New York Harbor hasn't changed, only the weather around it. We affirmed that light by releasing Torch Songs on Thanksgiving, 2020. For what do incoming Americans deserve but gratitude?
Then, and now.
