Hope Feast 2024 featuring the Eat Your Scraps Competition
Event description
Join Farming Hope at Refettorio San Francisco for our 2nd annual Hope Feast featuring the Eat Your Scraps competition!
Part of our unique mission at Farming Hope is to reduce food waste. Food waste occurs at every level of the food system. At Farming Hope we work on the supply side to rescue food that is imperfect, too close to the “best buy” date to sell, or has more supply than demand. Working with our partners at local produce markets, we rescue over 25,000 pounds of food annually from compost and landfill. We invite you to be a part of our mission for a more sustainable food system by joining us for Farming Hope’s 2nd annual competition fundraiser: the "Eat Your Scraps!" Competition.
For the 2nd time around, come indulge on delicious bites from the Bay Area’s top chefs! Enjoy creative cocktails and hands-on activities for a night of fun, connection, harvest, and hope all in support our of culinary job training and food justice work. Chefs will collaborate with our Apprentices in a competition to create show-stopping bites from a mystery selection of recovered products (think Chopped or Iron Chef). Guests will vote on their favorite and at the end of the evening, we will announce our next "Eat Your Scraps" champion!
