Event description

Hopscotch: Breaking Barriers, Creating Pathways

Parents seeking paid work face major hurdles - childcare access, transport, inflexible jobs, and intimidating recruitment processes. Meanwhile, key sectors struggle with worker shortages.

In 2023, Anglicare WA’s ShiftLab piloted a low-stress, accessible pathway into care work at Dudley Park Child and Parent Centre. The result? Hopscotch - an award-winning, place-based program transforming opportunities for parents and employers. Recognised for Excellence in Partnerships, it’s now helping shape Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR)'s employment policy.

If you’re a social enterprise working with parents or looking to set up a social enterprise employing parents facing complex barriers, this webinar is for you!

Join the WA Social Enterprise Council as we host Kira Rikkers from Anglicare WA’s innovation team. Kira Rikkers is a Service Designer dedicated to community flourishing. Weaving together skills and experience in participatory design and project management with strategic communication and systemic advocacy, she works relationally to elevate diverse voices and co-create inclusive environments for social change. Kira will share key findings and explore how this model can support social enterprise employers.
