Cyber Security Strategy Horizon 2 Town Hall
Description
A new program of work to uplift Australia’s cyber maturity under Horizon 2 was announced by the Minister for Cyber Security, the Hon Tony Burke MP, on 11 June 2026.
The Action Plan for Horizon 2 of the 2023–2030 Australian Cyber Security Strategy (the Horizon 2 Action Plan) outlines 19 actions and 64 initiatives for government to deliver by the end of 2028. The Horizon 2 Action Plan will be delivered in partnership with industry to achieve three key objectives:
· Enabling our workers to be our strongest defence, our ‘human firewall’
· Continuing to protect our critical infrastructure and government systems
· Shaping, securing and embracing digital technology
The delivery of Horizon 2 requires continued co-design, collaboration and support from industry and community partners. As such, the Department of Home Affairs is hosting an online public town hall on Thursday 2 July 2026 at 12pm to discuss the Horizon 2 Action Plan.
You will hear directly from government about this new program of work to uplift Australia’s cyber maturity over the next three years, opportunities to get involved, and to ask questions you may have about Horizon 2.
