Horner Park Plant Walk
Event description
Connect to the plants this fall as we transition out of summer blossoming and into winter dormancy, and enjoy a cup of herbal tea together. This walk will be an opportunity to learn about medicinal plants that are common in our urban landscape, and drink a medicinal tea of one of the plants we will see on our walk. We will learn identification strategies, edible and medicinal uses, and some folk stories and lore. All are welcome.
BYOC - bring your own cup for herbal tea.
Location details: We will meet in front of the Horner Park fieldhouse, at the corner of California and Montrose. We will begin by sharing tea together and then start our walk shortly after 10. Please note that if you arrive late and we have already departed, we will not have a way to give location updates.
Accessibility information: This is an outdoor event and masks are not required. Please stay home if you are sick with symptoms of any illness, or have recently tested positive for Covid-19. There are wheelchair-accessible bathrooms and drinking fountains available inside the Horner Park fieldhouse. This walk will include some paved pathways and significant time on unpaved trails.
Registration is also open for my next walk, Saturday, December 14th at La Bagh Woods. Click here to register for the December 14th walk.
