Who can come?

Anyone in horticulture who can raise a team of up to 6 players. Examples: Garden Centers, Nurseries, Landscaping Companies, Landscape Suppliers, Arborists, Educators and Students, Extension, Public Gardens, Urban Foresters, Garden Clubs, Plant Societies, or anyone else who is part of the green industry or loves plants and gardens.

What does it cost?

$5 per player. Teams can be 1 to 6 players

What will the questions be like?

They will cover the full breadth of horticulture. Some will be easy. Some will be hard. In the event of a tie breaker, the questions will be really hard.

Might we be embarrassed?

Absolutely not! The point of this is to celebrate our vocation, for friends to get together, to meet new friends, eat some pizza, drink a little beer, and have a lot of fun. And raise a little money so we can feel better about ourselves. The only people who will be embarrassed are those who didn’t come when they realize they missed the social event of the season! Maybe of all time.

How does it raise money?

If any team or anyone else wants to sponsor, contact Scott Beuerlein and let him know. Sponsorships begin at $50. If anyone sponsors above $50, we will make up a special and appropriate name for the sponsorship. Also, each team will be given a cussing jar. All cusses will cost $2.00. Honor system. Starting a fight or turning over a table will cost $100. At the end of the night, sponsorship and cussing proceeds will go to a preapproved nonprofit garden or horticulturally affiliated organization to be chosen by the winning team. Catch! If the winning team is a preapproved nonprofit, they cannot choose themselves! Also, proceeds from entry, beverage and food sales, like always with MadTree, will count towards MadTree Brewing’s 1% for the Planet.
