Almay Jordaan is Head of Food and Co-Owner of Neighbourhood Group, encompassing three of Melbourne’s favourite venues in the inner north: Neighbourhood Wine, Old Palm Liquor and Bahama Gold. Neighbourhood Wine opened in 2013 and has become a stalwart of Melbourne dining for over the past decade. The group’s latest venues, Old Palm Liquor and Bahama Gold followed suit, quickly becoming some of Brunswick’s most popular spots for fire-licked food inspired by Almay’s South African heritage and low-intervention wines, respectively.
Simon Blacher — Founder and Creative Director of Commune Group
Simon oversees the creative vision for Commune Group, a collection of dynamic, lively and forward-thinking hospitality venues in Melbourne. Established in 2012, the Group now includes seven restaurants, the original Hanoi Hannah and Hanoi Hannah Vol.II in Elsternwick, Firebird, Tokyo Tina, New Quarter, Moonhouse and its latest Chapel Street hotspot, Studio Amaro.

With more than three decades in hospitality, Rabih Yanni is known for transforming venues. He is currently operating his seventh establishment, demonstrating his extensive experience and expertise in the field – from The Point and earning two hats to his current tenure at Botanical Hotel, which has become a dining destination known for its premium beef, ethically sourced seafood, and bold wine list. Rabih’s dedication to excellence continues to elevate Melbourne’s dining scene.
Liz Rodriguez — Co-Owner and Managing Director of Grossi Group
With more than three decades of experience in the hospitality industry, Liz Rodriguez’s professionalism and creative flair has greatly contributed to the success of one of Melbourne’s most recognisable restaurant groups. Liz’s expertise in risk management, systems, policy development and people skills enable her to strengthen an organisation to allow for innovation, positive cultures and sustainable growth.
Joanna Reymond-Burns — Founder and Director of Reymond Communications
Joanna has had a lifetime in hospitality, growing up in restaurants. Her career working with venues – everything from helping with the launch phase to assisting venues in maintaining brand presence will see her host the evening and share marketing tips and tools.
Christian McCabe — Owner of Embla and Principal Wine Distribution
Christian has wide–ranging hospitality experience—from The Matterhorn Bar in New Zealand to his first Melbourne venue, The Town Mouse. His hospitality career has seen him work across a myriad of markets, and he can speak directly to the current restaurant climate and how to adapt to it.
