Eating Disorders Queensland (EDQ), a Brisbane-based not-for-profit organisation supporting people impacted by eating disorders, body image concerns, and related mental health challenges.
Through individual and group therapy, peer mentoring, and community building, EDQ aims to alleviate the impact of eating disorders for everyone concerned.
Eating Disorders Queensland (EDQ) recognises that recovery looks different for everyone and occurs at an individual pace, often alongside the support of partners, families, carers, and loved ones. We acknowledge the important role that medical and psychiatric services can play and position our services as a collaborative partner—or, where appropriate, an alternative—depending on each person’s needs.
With offices in Brisbane and Cairns, EDQ is a statewide, community‑based not‑for‑profit organisation supporting people living with an eating disorder, as well as their carers and key support people.
Our services include therapeutic and psychosocial support for individuals, as well as coaching and connection‑focused support for family & friends. We also deliver early‑intervention initiatives through community education that promote healthy relationships with food and body image.
EDQ is committed to challenging weight stigma and diet culture and fostering more inclusive, supportive communities for everybody.
