The Gippsland Regional Training Hub works to grow the next generation of rural medical practitioners across the Gippsland region. We support doctors to train, work, and thrive locally while enjoying the rewarding lifestyle Gippsland has to offer.
We collaborate with local health services to expand accredited training and supervisory capacity, connecting with medical students and junior doctors interested in rural medicine. Our primary focus is enabling trainees to complete as much of their medical education and specialist training locally as possible. To support this journey, the Gippsland Regional Training Hub provides tailored professional development courses, mentoring, career advice, research support, networking events, and the annual DRIVERS conference.
Our team works closely with key health services across the footprint including Latrobe Regional Health, Central Gippsland Health, West Gippsland Healthcare Group, Bairnsdale Regional Health Service, and Bass Coast Health alongside primary care providers, regional GP clinics, and the Gippsland Pathway of the Victorian Rural Generalist Program.
