Moirai reimagines ancient music through a contemporary lens, creating a distinctive sound world for violin, cello and percussion. The trio blends folk, medieval and improvised traditions with a curiosity for unusual rhythms, textures and sonic possibilities. Since debuting at 3MBS’ Music, She Wrote Festival in 2023, Moirai has developed a reputation for collaborative and adventurous music-making. Highlights include a 2024 Bundanon Artists in Residence collaboration with composer-improviser Chloe Kim, ongoing collaborations with Monash University students, and a 2025 recording supported by Creative Victoria. In 2026, Moirai performed at the inaugural Wagga Weekender Festival, continuing to expand its distinctive voice within Australia’s contemporary chamber music landscape.
