Hot Cross Buns Fundraiser

CGS Whole School Fundraiser- Wednesday 31 March 2021

We are pleased to advise that we have partnered with Bakers Delight and Anglicare Pantry Appeal this Easter to give back to those in need. Purchase your Hot Cross Buns, and a portion of the money raised will go to the Anglicare Pantry Appeal – the more we purchase, the more money we raise.

An Easter message from Father Andrew Robinson

In some ways, a cross is a strange symbol to put on a sticky fruit bun.

Each year, when Good Friday rolls around, there are often perplexed faces when I explain that this day commemorates the death of Christ. What on earth is ‘good’ about that? It’s because the story of Easter is a story of love – a love that bridges differences bringing forgiveness, a love that shines through even when human beings are at their worst. And it’s also a story of hope: as we look for eggs in the garden on Easter Sunday, we remember Mary Magdalene’s surprise and joy in a garden outside Jerusalem when she met the risen Christ.

This story shapes the deepest values of our School, as we seek to live as a community marked by love, forgiveness, and hope.

Purchase a pack of 6 Hot Cross Buns in a variety of flavours for $8.00 + booking fee. Depending on how many packs we sell a percentage from each purchase will go directly to the Anglicare Pantry Appeal to help provide emergency assistance for people facing hardship.

Orders will close on Monday 22 March at 9:00am. 

Primary School Students (including ELC and Northside) will receive their Hot Cross Buns between 2:00pm and 3:00pm in allocated areas on Wednesday 31 March

Senior School Students will receive orders in House areas in the lunch break on Wednesday 31 March.

Hot Cross Buns are available for staff to purchase – orders will be distributed to Primary Staff Room and Senior Common Room on Wednesday 31 March at lunchtime.
