Event description

SATURDAY 13TH JULY - A COLD NIGHT OF HOT SOUL JAZZ WITH THE SARAH MCDONALD QUINTET, SUPPORTED BY ADAM RUDEGEAIR

DOORS: 4PM / SHOW: 5-7PM / TICKETS: $30 PRESALE | $35 ON THE DOOR

Sarah McDonald emerges from the deep to reunite with her dream team comprised of Ben Hanlon on double bass, Kumar Shome on guitar, Ron Romero on tenor sax and Luke Andresen on drums to play some hot takes on soul jazz from the likes of Horace Silver, Cannonball Adderley and Freddie Hubbard, including many she has taken the liberty of writing lyrics for.

This show is also an audible love letter to the beloved Open Studio, Northcote’s most bohemian watering hole; a rare gem of a musical and community nexus that has meant a great deal over the years is sadly winding up operations later in the year.

So come revel and rage, rage against the dying of the light..

Bring your dancing shoes.

Supported by the audacious and bodacious Adam Rudegeair [ Bowie Project. Lake Minnetonka ] bringing funky solo piano realness.
