    Event description

Join us for an intimate house concert as we come together to enjoy local musicians for an international cause. The war in Palestine has torn innumerable families apart, help us to raise funds for four of these families so that they can survive the war zone.

Let's create lasting change for people in crisis.

    Musicians

Alcides Neto: Melbourne-based composer, musician and multi-instrumentalist, Alcides Neto draws inspiration from the folk music of his homeland, blending traditional and contemporary styles to offer a unique take on Brazilian music.

Rose Gonzalez: A finger-style guitarist, Rose’s devotion to the guitar started from a young age and has continued into tertiary levels, spanning various guitar teachers and music mentors from Australia to Latin America. As a soloist, Rose is drawn to the Latin American repertoire as it transcends borders and uniquely blends popular, classical and world influences. Listen to Rose's playing here.

    Families we are fundraising for:

Safaa is a mother of 5 trying to survive in Gaza (under 6, including toddler triplets). She needs funds to provide daily milk (vital for strong teeth and bones), nappies (diapers), food and other vital supplies for her family in Gaza. Currently a packet of nappies costs $40

Mahmoud Abu Nada is a Gazan young man of 18. He suffers from a rare form of Leukemia and is receiving some treatment for it in Ankara, Türkiye.  He sadly lost his sister 9 months ago to the same condition in Gaza because she couldn’t be treated and he also has an untreated 12 year old sister remaining back in Gaza.

Recently, Mahmoud lost his family home in the Gaza war, and his family are now displaced and homeless. They are struggling to buy food, water, basic necessities plus medicine for Mahmoud’s sister.

Funds raised will be given to Mahmoud’s family in Gaza to buy the essentials for health and survival there.

Mohammed Abujazar requires cancer treatment in Türkiye and to support his wife, 2  young children and family back in Gaza.

Mohammed has gone beyond what most people would ever dream of with a life dedicated to serving others. Not only does he support others as a nurse and physical therapist but he has also spent all of his savings on financial mutual aid support to families including his own back in Gaza. He has spent his life catching others in their times of crisis. Funds raised will be used to pay for half of Mohammed's cancer treatment (the other half is being paid for by another organisation), expenses relating to his treatment, everyday living expenses for him and to send money back home to his immediate family in Gaza.

Rajab needs medical help for his cancer treatment in Egypt.

Last November Rajab survived a bomb on his family home in Gaza that sadly killed his wife and some of his young kids. He was able to be medically evacuated and is now a refugee in Egypt with his remaining children. His 20 year old son, Ahmed, he himself still suffering from injuries relating to the attack cares for Rajab and his younger siblings.

Rajab is a dad in his 40s and has been suffering from cancer for several years now.  He has been suffering from multiple crises. He broke his pelvis a while ago and needs urgent surgery on it.

Funds raised will help cover future surgeries and daily medical treatment, as well as basic necessities like food for the family.
