The House of Genet are pleased to present a one-night showcase of shocking new drag talent!

Over the past six weeks, our cohort has learned to get big, loud and dressed up to fight for queer voices. With a workshop series spanning from improv, to choreography, to dress, to identity and to stage presence, the instructors and mentors of the House of Genet have strived to create a new space for storytellers and performers. Join us to celebrate the bravery and skill of our seven fresh royals, celebrate queer joy and get weird!

A very special thanks to our industry guests for their time and knowledge:

Acknowledgement of Country

SUDS and the House of Genet acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which we rehearse and perform, the land of Gadigal people of the Eora nation. We acknowledge that Indigenous peoples have and continue to care for Country, and that we tell stories today on ancient and unceded land. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.

We also acknowledge the significant contribution of Indigenous, Black and Latinx peoples to the artform of drag, its origins, its language, its style and nerve. We acknowledge the unfairness with which our queer brothers and sisters of colour have been targeted, disadvantaged and had their work plagiarized- including by white queer people and organisations. We celebrate the power and dignity of all queer performers- and we honour the sacrifices made by those who came before us, that we might perform for you.
