Folklore Art Show @ The House (Free to enter!)
Event description
FOLKLORE is a one-week-only, low-expectations art showcase of artists in the local scene displayed at The House Co-Creation Hub.
This exhibit is focused on the theme of Folklore. Come along, have a cuppa, and interact with your local art community!
Do you want to enter your art? It’s totally free, and The House takes no commission from sales.
Each artist is afforded a one-meter-by-one-meter area with which to display their work. Please enquire to request a larger area. Entry is free! Send an email titled "FOLKORE" to thehousegeelong@gmail.com. In this email, please provide:
Your name & artist name (if using one).
Any social media you want us to know about.
Title(s) & description(s) of what you intend to include in the exhibit. It's ok if it isn't finished yet.
The price of the work.
A portfolio of your work, if available.
Written recognition that you will drop off your work on Thursday the 16th of October from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM, and pick up your work on Thursday the 23rd of October from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Artworks not picked up by this date are forfeit and will be removed.
What about the Open Mic Poetry? On the night of the art show we will be hosting an Open Mic Poetry reading at The House to coincide with the art. Propped up on a small stage, poets will be surrounded by art and given the opportunity to share their poems. To read, just sign up on the night. Read as many poems as you like, about any subjects! Even perform a song, if you like!
The House is a safe and inclusive space for all people: women, the LGBTIQA+ community, CALD people, people living with disability, and even nerds.
Hope to see you there!
