How can I keep from singing? A celebration of the power of song
Event description
Join us for an afternoon of truly magical singing. The Wellington Community Choir is excited to host Te Takutai Moana Koea o Rātana and present this joint concert to celebrate the power of song together. A unique opportunity to hear the sensational Rātana choir.
The Wellington Community Choir is a diverse and vibrant community of people who love to sing. We are a non-auditioned choir and everyone is welcome! We learn all songs by ear, encourage our singers to use their natural voice, and provide support for beginner singers. We believe that everyone has the right to sing.
We have been singing together since 2005 and learn and perform new and traditional folksongs from New Zealand and around the world, notably from the African continent, as well as community songs with the occasional addition of pop and gospel.
Te Takutai Moana Koea o Rātana was established on October 7, 1927.
