How Can Truth be Found? Meeting Each Other on the Quest

A warm welcome, from the organising members of the Youth Section in Australia!

We are a group of 5 young people (currently aged 27-30) who work together to foster spiritual development and companionship in ourselves, each other, and hopefully our wider communities.

Our greatest point of shared interest – the interest which has brought us together – is Anthroposophy. For each of us in our own ways, the study and practice of Anthroposophy has given us a framework within which we can pursue our individual interests in deep questions of life, the worlds within us, and those around us.

For 3 years we have held an annual gathering in September, where we come together in person to connect, share, play, talk and move together. This is special to us because our members live all around our huge and beloved home country, and physical distance is a challenging obstacle to forming deep human connections.

These annual gatherings are open to people aged 18-35, who are spiritually striving: those who are ready to become aware of, and consciously explore, some inner need to try to understand and deeply connect with the world around them.

Although as a group and as individuals we find value in the thinking systems of Anthroposophy, there is no need to share that.

Anthroposophy is not a religion, nor is it intended to be a belief system, and it can help frame questions and thoughts in ways which improve a person’s experience of themselves, their life journey, and the world around them, without necessitating a sense of faith (although, in meeting people who practice Anthroposophy, you may find stories of those who have unexpectedly experienced faith and connection through their practice).

Our 2026 gathering is titled How Can Truth Be Found? Meeting Each Other On The Quest.

In our lives, we have been grappling with questions around the concept (and reality) of Truth. Like many in these times, we have identified it as something of unavoidable significance.

Our hope at this gathering is to create a space of warmth, social connection and genuine interest, where young people can feel safe and inspired to explore their own ideas and inner sense of Truth, among other questions they might have about what it means to live in these times. And, to have fun!

Our weekend program will include games and play, artistic workshops, drama experiences, and space to talk and get to know one another.

We also meet regularly online for book studies (anyone aged 18-35 who is interested is welcome to join!) and have some local state-based groups which meet in person more frequently.

KEY INFORMATION

Accommodation & Food

-You will be staying in the classrooms of Lorien Novalis Steiner School.

-Mats for sleeping are available (bring a blanket or sleeping bag!)

-The classrooms will be heated

-Showers and toilets are available

-Food (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks) will be provided and everyone is invited to help with the preparation if they wish

What to bring:

• Towel(s)

• Toiletries

• Warm clothes

• Sleeping bags & a pillow

• A mat to sleep on

• A musical instrument if you can! (We'll also provide some on site)
