Wed, 25 Jun, 8:30am - 3:30pm AEST

Event description

Dr Carl Hendrick works at the Academica University of Applied Sciences where his focus is on bridging the gap between research and practice. He was a secondary English teacher for 18 years in a range of different contexts and completed his PhD in education at King’s College London.

Dr Carl Hendrick is co-author with Paul Kirschner of the highly regarded 'How Teaching Happens & How Learning Happens' books. These seminal works closely examine what makes for effective teaching in the classroom and how research on expert teaching can be used in practice.

The Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools will be hosting a full day event for teachers and school leaders who feel they want to engage with research and evidence-based strategies based on responsive teaching, checking for understanding, effective scaffolding, explicit instruction and the highest levers of learning.
