How Recruitment Really Works: A Workshop with HRM
Description
Have you ever wondered what happens to your CV after you click "apply"?
In this practical workshop, our partners at HRM will show you how recruitment works on the Sunshine Coast. These are people who help employers hire every day, and they will share what they look for.
You will learn how job boards like Seek and AI tools screen applications, how to change your CV for each role so it gets noticed, and how to talk about your overseas experience with confidence in an interview. HRM will also explain what to do if you don't have Australian referees yet, how to find jobs that are never advertised, and how to work well with a recruiter.
Your first job here does not have to be your dream job. It can be the step that gets you there.
Who is HRM? HRM is a local human resources and recruitment agency based in Maroochydore. It was started in 2005 by Sally Desch, and today it is the largest locally and privately owned HR and recruitment agency on the Sunshine Coast, with over 20 years in the industry. HRM works as a preferred supplier for some of the Coast's largest employers, including Sunshine Coast Council, and won its category at the Sunshine Coast Business Awards in 2019 and 2021. In short, they know what local employers want, because local employers ask them to find it
