    Event description

The Brotherhood of St Laurence invites you to a panel discussion to cover the topic of ‘Social Procurement: A BSL and Fulton Hogan case study of getting people into jobs’ to highlight how transformative the social procurement policy has been to foster inclusive employment opportunities as well as hear directly from people whose lives have benefited from the policy.

The panel, which will include a placed jobseeker, will canvass how just as individual Australians can make a difference to our social and economic development of communities, so too can governments and other organisations. It will explore how ‘social procurement’ is a way for governments and businesses to use their everyday spending to generate a positive impact. This can mean providing job opportunities for people who would otherwise struggle to get a foothold into work.

As we acknowledge Refugee Week (18 June - 24 June), join us to hear about how social procurements helps people from refugee backgrounds get their foot in the door for their first job in Australia.

Register now to attend this panel discussion.
