How to Capture a Prime Minister
Event description
When a student protest veers dangerously out of control, Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser seeks refuge in the bowels of a theatre while his minders desperately try and hatch an escape plan.
Drawing upon eyewitness interviews and vivid archival footage from the 1970s, How to Capture a Prime Minister is an enthralling documentary about the fragility of democracy, the lifecycle of idealism, and the legacy of Australia’s most divisive Prime Minister.
This special event screening will occur on 11 November 2024, marking the 49th anniversary of the Whitlam Government dismissal of 1975. Hosted by director and producer Gary Newman.
