Event description

Once an asset is built sustainably, is the job done? HELL NO, the asset needs to be continuously maintained to a ensure its functioning... that's where Ventia comes in!

Join the Sydney Roads Asset Performance Contract (SRAPC) team from Ventia to discover the sustainability opportunities on a road maintenance contract. This is an interactive workshop, where you will get to learn about road maintenance from experienced professionals and then build a sustainable road maintenance plan. This is a great opportunity to learn about all of the diverse sustainability solutions that need to be considered when maintaining and operating a road network. The workshop will allow you to not only learn about road maintenance but brainstorm new opportunities and solutions to some of the contracts biggest challenges. At the end of the workshop, you will have the basic knowledge of how a maintenance contract operates and which levers need to be pulled to ensure a sustainable operation.

Are you not convinced yet? Let us give you some more details on what you will learn:

  • What kind of recycled materials can be reused in asphalt
  • How to manage the roads with enhanced climate risks
  • New types of electric equipment to be used for construction
  • New fuel types to replace traditional fossil fuels
  • Innovations used on pavement, culvert and ITS projects
  • and Much More!

Come along and learn from the team about what it takes to manage an asset sustainably!

Details of the team you will learn from:

John Galea - Asset Performance Lead - John Galea is the Asset Performance Lead, overseeing contract performance reporting and promoting transparency. He leads a technical team specialising in Bridge, Corridor, Road Pavement, and Drainage asset inspections, with a foundation drawing on experience in civil and road construction.
