Love anime and manga? 🎨 Want to learn how to draw your own characters?
This fun individualised class is perfect for young artists aged 8–13. Step by step, you’ll learn the basics of manga drawing — from expressive eyes and faces to cool hairstyles and poses. No experience needed, just bring your imagination!
Led by artist and lifelong anime fan Gabrielle Coppola, this hands-on, small-group course is all about building your drawing skills, confidence, and creative voice in a relaxed and encouraging studio setting.
You’ll create your own manga-inspired artwork each week, with references drawn from the Katy Coope manual, your favourite anime characters, or original ideas.
We also look at Manga comic books and age-appropriate anime movies and shows for context and inspiration.
🧠 What You’ll Learn:
Each class builds on the last. You’ll explore:
Basic head & face proportions in manga
Expressive eyes & facial expressions
Stylised body shapes & dynamic poses
Character design & story
Shading & outlining techniques
Fine motor control to improve steadiness when drawing
Overcoming fear of the blank page & making mistakes
✏️ All Materials Provided:
All supplies are included – just bring yourself! Optional: feel free to bring your own sketchbook, markers, or iPad (though the focus will be on hand-drawing, not digital editing).
