Going global as a startup can be challenging to navigate, especially for the first time. Startups from unique markets such as Australia or Poland need to consider global expansion at the outset to succeed. At the same time, global collaboration, including efficient work allocation; cost optimization; attracting the best talent and technologies, affects start-ups’ productivity and ability to compete and disrupt markets.

About the Polish Investment and Trade Agency 

The Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) supports both the foreign expansion of Polish business and the inflow of FDI into Poland. We also aim to boost Polish exports. Supporting entrepreneurs, the Agency assists in overcoming administrative and legal procedures,  related to specific projects as well as help to develop legal solutions, find a suitable location, reliable partners, and suppliers.

The Agency implements pro-export projects such as "the Polish Tech Bridges" dedicated to the expansion of innovative Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises. We actively work with the leading Polish sectors, regarding foreign expansion and offer support to Polish companies wishing to develop in new markets. PAIH is also responsible for the promotion of Poland at the upcoming World Exhibition EXPO Dubai 2020.

In order to offer direct assistance to Polish businesses abroad, PAIH has established a network of support all over the world. PAIH Foreign Trade Offices comprise of a global, constantly expanding network of Agency's offices, responsible for providing support for Polish exporters and for investors who are looking for new opportunities overseas. PAIH Foreign Trade Offices are focused on distant markets of rapid growth, that represent the greatest potential for Polish companies. Our representatives in these offices have been trained to attract foreign investors and assist them in their ambition to set up business in Poland.

About the Speakers 

Jakub Wilchelm, Manager of Australian Trade Office at the Polish Investment and Trade Agency

Previously involved in managing and building businesses in the mining, rubber, finance, and real estate sectors in Poland, Australia, the USA, and Asia.

Anna Wojt, Director at PwC Australia and President of Polish Australian Business Forum (PABF) 

Anna moved to Australia a few years ago to bring her global experience from EMEA, US to the APAC region in leading global transformation programs. As a global leader, she drives the development of PwC methodologies and tools, leads PwC research, and assesses global transformation trends to help businesses to drive efficiency. Her experience includes advising clients on building and leading teams around the world. She launched PABF in 2015 to help Polish and Australian businesses to meet and collaborate. She holds a PhD in Political Science and International Relationships and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).

Mieszko Mularczyk, CEO at Apptimia 

Mieszko has over 20 years of successful track record in software product development for telecom and industrial segments. For the last decade, he has worked with several large, global logos in telecom, IT, connectivity, IoT and sensor data collection. Presently based in Europe, he has worked on various senior management, engineering and business development positions around the globe, including 2 years in the Silicon Valley, USA. He founded Apptimia in 2015 with Robert Rak, COO.

Bartosz Chojnacki, Senior Software Engineer Apptimia 

Senior web developer with over 13 years of experience. Worked on many projects with international teams for customers from around the world. Experienced with different technologies stacks and methodologies. Recently, designing the architecture of an analytical system for critical infrastructure.

Wojciech Fiderek, Senior Software Engineer at Aptimia 

Wojtek is a software engineer with over 8 years of professional experience. For the last four years, he is using his low-level programming experience to improve the development and delivery process of cloud applications. Currently, he is focusing on simplification and automatization of software development, implementing his ideas in Apptimia's customers' projects.

Simon Bazan Business Development Specialist at Alphamoon

Manager with over 5 years of experience in the field of new technologies and technology consulting. Graduate of the University of Economics in Wroclaw. Cooperated with clients from financial, consulting and manufacturing industries in Europe. In Alphamoon is responsible for sales and business development.

Bhaskar Vetrimani, Head Of Business Development, APAC at Lingaro

A technologist turned business leader with about 20 years of experience in APAC and is currently responsible for leading Lingaro into APAC Business expansion helping customers adopt data faster and quicker and enabling them to become data-centric and data-driven organizations. Prior to joining Lingaro, he held various leadership roles for Wipro and Tech Mahindra. He is based out of Singapore and is an engineering graduate.
