SOLD OUT - How to Identify the Common UK Bumblebees - Beginner's Workshop

This workshop is aimed at those who are new to bumblebee identification and will focus on learning to identify the most common bumblebee species that you’re most likely to see across the UK.

The session will be held at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, and will be mainly practical, using museum specimens, microscopes (with guidance for first-time users), and magnifying glasses. We'll learn how to identify the common bumblebees and differentiate the most common species from the very similar but rarer species.

If the weather is good, we may visit Brandon Hill to observe bumblebees in the wildflower meadow. In poor weather, we’ll explore the museum’s behind-the-scenes insect collection. • Bristol Museum & Art Gallery is located at the top of Park Street in Bristol, next to the Wills Building of the University of Bristol. BS8 1RL

• There are many bus services that run outside the Museum - the nearest bus stop is within 150m of the venue.

• ulti-storey car parks at the top of Jacobs Wells Road (West End Car Park) and on Park Row (Trenchard Street) and there is on-street parking.
