How to make a 3D animated film

Have you ever wondered what are the steps and jobs are involved in making a high-end 3D animated film, like the ones you see in the cinema or on Netflix?

Join the team at the UTS Animal Logic Academy as they break down the production pipeline and talk about the eleven departments that different students specialised in to create the award-nominated film 'Alone'.

From art department, through modelling, rigging, previs & layout, animation, surfacing & texturing, effects, lighting, compositing to technical direction and production co-ordination, these departments require skills that vary from highly creative to highly technical, and also most everything in between. So if you’ve studied art, or computer science, or animation or IT and coding – there is a role in the 3D animation production pipeline. The one thing all have in common is the love of working on creative projects.

The highlight of the evening will be a full screening of the most recent Master of Animation and Visualisation student project ‘Alone’.
