Getting your team on board is key to unlocking change.

CitySwitch has partnered with WorkforClimate to support business signatories get your team on board.

WorkforClimate is a not-for-profit organisation that’s focused on climate action at work. It aims to equip employees with the knowledge and skills they need to drive the climate transformation of their organisations.

This event is suitable for sustainability officers, green teams, sustainability champions or simply those looking to learn proven strategies to get your team on board with climate action.

Expect an action-oriented workshop and networking event gathering Sydney-based CitySwitch members. This workshop will be led by Laure Legros, Head of Experience, WorkforClimate.

The agenda includes;

  • Main challenges in engaging teams
  • A 3 step guide to get teams on board
  • The do’s and don’ts of engaging employees

We’ll also hear signatory, Mott MacDonald, share their experience establishing a successful carbon reduction internal working group.

Presenter Bio:

Laure Legros

Laure is the Head of Experience at non-profit WorkforClimate, which helps climate-concerned professionals influence the climate agenda of their organisations.

Laure spent the first decade of her career working in large tech and digital companies, including Adobe and Google. In 2020, she decided to leave the industry and work on climate, because she felt like the urgency and magnitude of the challenge was too big to work on anything else. Becoming a parent to a now 4 year old little boy also accelerated her journey into this work.

In addition to her work with WorkforClimate, Laure is the Australian co-lead for Climate Fresk, a non-profit on a mission to educate people about climate science fundamentals through a serious game.

Laure has a deep love for the outdoors and loves connecting with nature through sports - both on land and in the oceans.

 
Speaker bios:

Eugene Wai, Sustainability Engineer, Mott MacDonald

Eugene is a sustainability engineer with experience in sustainability rating and reporting, GIS mapping, social and economic analysis.

At Mott MacDonald, Eugene is the NSW representative on Australia’s Carbon Reduction Group. This role has required him to develop processes for monitoring and measuring carbon emissions and developing carbon reduction actions. His, and the rest of Carbon Reduction Group, work has helped Mott Macdonald achieve carbon neutral status under PAS2060 from 2021 – 2022.

Eugene is passionate about protecting and enhancing our natural environmental. He is a keen fisherman and can often been found angling in his time away from the office.


Geraint Breese, Senior Environmental Consultant, Mott MacDonald

Geraint is an environmental consultant with a focus on planning, urban development, and project management with over 7 years of experience working in environmental planning roles within New South Wales and New Zealand.

At Mott MacDonald, Geraint has taken on the role of championing the Local Environment Practice Plan (LEPP) for the Sydney office. The LEPP has targets and actions to improve Mott MacDonald‘s environmental performance in relation to energy and water consumption, waste reduction, procurement and transport. The plan includes corporate actions and methods to influence employees to make sustainable actions. Geraint is excited to share his experiences in the development and implementation of the LEPP.
