How to Start a Side Business

Please note: this event is run by the Small Business Development Corporation for small business owners in Western Australia only.

Do you have a hobby that you would like to turn into a business? Is your side hustle starting to take off and you want to make sure you’re on the right track for success? 

This workshop will help you test your business idea and explain how to run a business on the side. All participants will receive a checklist on how to start a side business.

This topic covers:
  • Understanding your motivation to start a business
  • Identifying your strengths in transitioning to a business owner
  • Identifying a good business idea and market testing it
  • Conducting market research to identify your customers and whether they will buy from you
  • Accessing start-up funds and business resources
  • How to marketing and promote your business on a shoestring budget

      This session is for anyone wanting to test a business idea or has a side business they would like to launch.

      This online workshop will be recorded and made available for those registrants unable to attend the live event. A link to the recording will be available to registrants from the workshop hub within 24 hours of the live event taking place. You will have a week to watch the video before the link expires.

      Bookings are limited to two tickets each, however you can make more than one booking. If you are booking for more than one person, please provide each person's email address so they receive our emails with important links and downloads.

      If you cannot attend, please cancel so your place can be made available to another business owner. You can cancel your booking from the update order button on your order confirmation email. Cancellations and refunds for paid workshops can be made up to 24 hours before the workshop starts.
