Our two events for Rare Disease Day 2025 have reached capacity. However, if you would like to be added to the waitlist for either Friday, Saturday, or both days, you can do so via this page. 

Friday, 28th February 2025: For clinicians, students, educators, scientists, and anyone passionate about advancing rare disease care and promoting inclusivity in healthcare and research. Hear from leading researchers, clinicians, those with lived experience, and service providers at the forefront of rare disease care.

Saturday, 1st March 2025: A family-friendly event bringing together people living with a rare disease, health professionals, and the wider community to connect, share, and inspire. There will be fun activities for kids, and it's free-of-charge.

Celebrate International Rare Disease Day with Rare Diseases NSW!

Join us for a special clinical education day to mark International Rare Disease Day 2025 on Friday, 28th February at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick.

Event Highlights:

  • Expert Insights: Hear from leading researchers, clinicians, those with lived experience, and service providers at the forefront of rare disease care.
  • Special Guest: Award-winning photographer Rick Guidotti, founder of Positive Exposure, will share his inspiring work celebrating human diversity and changing attitudes towards individuals with genetic, physical, behavioural, or intellectual differences

Who should attend? 

  • Clinicians: Allied Health, Medical, and Nursing professionals.
  • Students & Educators: Those studying or teaching in fields related to complex care needs, disability, diversity, chronic, and rare diseases.
  • Scientists: Clinical and basic scientists engaged in translational research, interested in integrating human-centered frameworks and diversity considerations into their work.
  • Anyone passionate about advancing rare disease care and promoting inclusivity in healthcare and research.
