Did you know that women with disability experience domestic partner violence (29%) at twice the rate of women without disability (14.4%)? (Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2016)

In collaboration with the Town of Victoria Park, this workshop is specially designed for members of the Healthy Relationships Strategy Group (HRSG) and their colleagues. If you are not part of the group, please register for a different session.

This free three-hour workshop, facilitated by the Patricia Giles Centre for Non-Violence, is aimed at workers in the FDV sector. It focuses on increasing the confidence and capacity of the sector to support positive outcomes for people with disability experiencing violence.

Workshop Highlights:

Understanding the intersection of FDV and disability
Recognising the unique ways people with disability experience violence
Identifying barriers faced by people with disability in accessing FDV services
Learning how to modify service delivery to better meet the needs of people with disability
Exploring effective referral pathways and resources

This workshop is open to all professionals working in the FDV sector including FDV support workers, case workers, therapeutic workers and more.
