Event description

The World Lebanese Cultural Union (WLCU) of Sydney, in conjunction with the WLCU Sydney Foundation Ltd, will be presenting its Annual HSC Distinguished Achievers Awards to our Australian Lebanese youth, who have achieved outstanding results in the 2023 HSC. This includes all students with Lebanese ancestry, on either side of their family.

We would like to extend an invitation to all students of Lebanese ancestry who have received an ATAR of 95 and above, to nominate and attend our event on Thursday evening 11th April 2024, to be held at the EG offices, Governor Phillip Tower, 1 Farrer Place, Sydney.

All students will be formally awarded a certificate of merit and a copy of Khalil Gibran’s book ‘The Prophet’. Any students who achieved an ATAR of 95+ will also receive a commemorative silver WLCU coin, with the top students additionally receiving monetary awards. We will also be presenting two President’s All Rounder Awards and the winners will also receive a WLCU silver coin. The recipients of the President’s All Rounder Award will be chosen from the pool of students who have applied with (ideally) an ATAR of 90 and above with achievements in, but not limited to, Community Service, Leadership, Sports and the Arts. Students wishing to nominate should do so by 1st April 2024 by completing this form or calling Petra on 0433 303 351.

The award recipients will be our guest and attend for free. The standard ticket prices includes refreshments and substantial canapes served prior to the presentation on arrival. We would be grateful if you could forward us the names and contact details of those students whom you may wish to nominate for this year’s awards to info@wlcusydney.org.au.

We hope that you will be able to join us and look forward to receiving the details of any eligible students that you would like to nominate.
