Electrify Wairarapa - Rural Series
Description
Following on from the successful urban community forums delivered by Electrify Wairarapa over the past year, we are now moving our attention to the eastern hill country of Wairarapa.
The issues and opportunities are different to those that exist in an urban environment with resilience perhaps being the top issue that can be tackled via electrification and on-farm generation.
What is shared with the urban community is the need for credible information delivered in way that assists in decision making and so Electrify Wairarapa is pleased to launch this series of community forums alongside our partners – MPI, EECA & Powerco.
Attendees will hear the from the host and others in the area as they describe their experiences along the electrification journey. To provide the technical information, we have speakers from Powerco, EECA, Harrisons Solar, a bank and others.
Once we have completed the formal elements, the opportunity exists to stay on site for lunch and the chance to engage one-on-one.
The first event in the series will be held in the Tinui area at Rewa Rewa Station, with the details below:
Wednesday 14th October 2026 - 10 am – 1 pm
Rewa Rewa Station,
166 Rewa Rewa Rd
RD 14, Tinui
Our host will be Patrizia Vieno who will describe her journey towards electrification that encompasses both the farm and her wool processing operation. To get the full background you can visit https://rewarewastation.co.nz/.
