Event description

Solid & Fluid – Contact Improvisation Workshop

Facilitated by

Kieran Mitchell & Genki Matsuyama

Join us as we explore the roles of base and flyer.

One lifts and supports, the other extends and reaches with malleability.

Between these roles, there is flow, a quiet continuity that links standing, mid-level, and floor.

Not as separate stages—but as one uninterrupted conversation.

In this workshop, we’ll explore how to meet each other beyond roles.

How to listen to transitions.

How to move without breaking the thread of connection.

To become solid and fluid.

To switch roles without interruption.

To dance from trust, not control.

Not just moving—meeting.

Not just supporting—listening.

Not just lifting—receiving.
