Description

Objects: One Day Studio Workshop in Art and Drawing is a drawing programme held by Open Field Studio, currently in Brisbane.

A series of drawing and material studies exploring line, mark-making and form to develop your own visual expression and method. Each session will be structured but open, allowing ideas and meaning to emerge.

We will look at pivotal artworks and concepts to inform experimentation and composition. All levels of experience are welcome. All resources and materials provided. Limited spaces.

About me: I have a BA in Fine Art and Visual Culture. My studio practice was Sculpture with a foundational practice in Drawing, Art History and Community Arts Development. Currently in postgraduate studies. More info at www.openfieldstudio.com.au

Includes:

Short art film screening

Projected visual art archive - artist examples: methods and materials

All drawing materials provided and for you to keep - HB pencil, graphite pencil, charcoal pencil, black oil pastel, fine ink pen

Drawing surfaces - toned paper, parchment paper and graph paper provided

Printed artist notes on selected artists included

A3 Art folder for your artwork

Session structure:

Arrive at 9:45am to settle in and be ready to begin

10 am - Welcome, short art film screening

Session One: Drawing as Another Language: Line and Mark-Making

Session Two: Drawing: Line and Observation

Lunch: 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm (coffee and tea provided, park on doorstep, cafes close by)

1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

Session Three: Drawing: Line as Object, Memory and Composition
