About Greywacke
Greywacke is the label of the Judd family in Marlborough, a name which is intrinsically linked with the global profile of New Zealand wine. The Greywacke team use low-intervention winemaking to create exceptional wines known for their personality, individuality and elegance. Founder Kevin Judd also has a renowned passion for photography and his signature vineyard photographs provide the unmistakable identity of the Greywacke range.This quality focused winemaking venture sources fruit from mature vineyards within the central Wairau Plains and the Southern Valleys. These prime viticultural sites are cultivated using yield restricting vineyard management techniques and intense canopy management regimes to provide ample sunlight exposure to the grapes – ensuring ripeness of flavour, textural richness and ideal acid balance.
All Vineyards are sustainably managed with substantial and increasing proportions coming from organically farmed sites. From 2018 Greywacke has been accredited with AMW status (Appellation Marlborough Wine) guaranteeing provenance, authenticity and integrity.
