Join Scott Craven for a look through a historian’s eye at the unique geology of the Hudson River Valley. Learn about the geological impact on the creation of our nation, the building of the greatest city on earth, and the development of our very own Hudson Valley community.

This event is the first in a four-part series covering essential elements of the rich history of this area. Over the next several months, we will look at the geology, indigenous peoples, arrival of slavery and the rise of industry, and the environmental movement. About Scott Craven

Scott Craven works at the Ossining Library. He is a former captain of the Ossining Police Department with a graduate degree in American History, whose master’s thesis focused on the environmental history of the Hudson River Valley. Born and raised in Ossining, Scott is an avid paddler, hiker and cyclist—he has swam, paddled, fished and fallen off every rock between Piermont and Bannermans Island.
