Hugh F + Lee Sullivan at Franks Wild Years
Event description
Hugh F has been quietly stealing hearts across Australia and beyond with his tender, funny, and disarmingly honest folk songs. Hailing from Dudhuroa Country and a longtime fixture of the Naarm/Melb music scene, Hugh has toured the country with Darren Hanlon, charmed American crowds alongside Chastity Belt, and somehow gone viral singing about rats and horses. (This is not a metaphor.) With three self-produced albums and a knack for turning everyday moments into miniature anthems, Hugh continues to make music that feels like a group hug organised by an over-apologetic substitute teacher. Fresh from playing bass and singing for Kankawa Nagarra (winner of the 2024 Australian Music Prize) and Darren Hanlon, Hugh is back on the road — this time solo, with a guitar in one hand, a suitcase full of stories in the other, and a Greyhound ticket with far too many stopovers. He’s joined by Lee Sullivan for a very special night in Thirroul (Dharawal Country).
Hailing from Eora/Sydney, Lee Sullivan turns stories from his life into songs about childhood, travel, first love, break-ups and everything in between. In 2024, he released his debut album ‘Separation Anxiety’, followed by an east coast Australian tour. He has shared stages with some of the country’s finest artists including Julia Jacklin, Carla Geneve and Georgia Mulligan, illuminating late nights, lounge rooms and festival stages alike.
