MEET HUGH

Hugh Mackay is a social psychologist and bestselling author. His non-fiction covers social analysis, psychology, communication and ethics. He is also the author of nine novels. Hugh has had a sixty-year career in social research and was a weekly newspaper columnist for twenty-five years. He is a fellow of the Australian Psychological Society and the Royal Society of New South Wales and has been awarded honorary doctorates by five Australian universities. MEET MHAIRI

Mhairi Fraser made a tree change from Sydney to Goulburn in 2008. She has worked as a frontline social worker and as a community advocate for renewable energy benefit sharing. Mhairi believes that a worthwhile life is a life lived for others and to this end volunteers for a range of community projects and groups. Preserving and enhancing the cultural, heritage, environmental and artistic life of the region is a passion. Mhairi met Hugh Mackay in 2014 when she approached him to participate in the Goulburn Connects Sustainability Festival that year. They have been friends and "conversation partners" ever since.
