Hui-ā-Tauira
Event description
Hui-ā-Tauira 2025 will bring together Māori law students (tauira), academics, and law clerks/graduates from across Aotearoa for three days dedicated to connection, wānanga, and legal skill development.
This kaupapa is focused on more than networking — it’s about building capability, confidence, and a supportive community grounded in te ao Māori and tikanga.
Attendees can look forward to engaging in workshops, hearing from inspiring Māori legal professionals, and exploring both practical skills and kaupapa Māori perspectives that are essential to thriving in the legal profession.
The first day of the conference will be reserved for our annual tauira Kapa Haka Competition - Te Matature on Monday 7 July. Hence, tickets for all other attendees are for Tuesday 8 July onwards.
Ticket Types:
One Day Admission: Attend one day of Hui-ā-Tauira, either Tuesday 8 July or Wednesday 9 July. This will entitle you to come along to key note speakers, panels and participate in development sessions of your chosen day.
Two Day Admission: Attend both days of Hui-ā-Tauira (Tuesday 8th & Wednesday 9th) and enjoy all of the key note speakers, panels and development sessions on offer.
All-Inclusive Conference Admission: Access both full-conference days, Thursday Keynotes and attend the IPLS Conference Dinner on Thursday 10 July with Guest Speaker, Hon Justice Tā Joe Williams.
